NC County Soil Survey Map Rectification A spatial database was generated of stream networks as represented in North Carolina County Soil Survey publications for select research watersheds. Specifically, historic hardcopy soil survey maps were scanned and georeferenced based on current reference images, and the stream networks were digitized as displayed on the rectified soil maps.
Watershed Hydrology GIS Map Generation
Consulting services performed in support of services provided by Watershed Hydrology Consultants LLC (NC) to a West Virginia client.
Stream Identification and Mapping Project
Field surveys were performed to map stream networks in select research watersheds across North Carolina using GPS technology. Mapping grade Trimble GeoXT GPS units customized to incorporate the functionality of ESRI’s ArcPad and Trimble’s TerraSync were utilized to record coordinate information at locations every fifty to seventy five feet along the stream channel from the watershed mouth to all perennial and intermittent stream origins.
